LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern will look to get back in the win column this week after dropping their last two contests.

On Wednesday, the Fire (2-3) will head to Fort Lauderdale to take on the defending Division II National Champions, Nova Southeastern for an exhibition at 7 p.m. The Fire will then return home as they host New College of Florida at 2 p.m.

Two of the Fire's three losses this season have come against teams receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll. Collectively, the Fire are averaging 70.6 points per contest, shooting 43% from the field and 30% from three-point range.
Makai Vassell has led the offensive charge, averaging 14.2 points per contest and shooting 47% from the field and has gone 4-8 from distance.
Joshua Blazquez and
Derek Murphy have also made an impact on the offensive front with Blazquez averaging 13.2 points per game and Murphy leading the three-point shooting with a .385 (10-26) three-point percentage. Blazquez also leads the team in assists and steals.

Sean Shore leads the rebounding efforts with an average of 6.6 per game.

The Sharks of Nova Southwestern begin the season 2-0, scoring over 100 points in both contests for an average of 114.5 points per game. The offense holds a .494 field goal percentage and a .405 three-point percentage. Defensively, the Sharks average 11.5 more rebounds than their competitors each game. Five different players average over 10 points per game with GianFranco Grafals averaging a team-high 15.5. Shane Hunter has gone 13-18 from the field (.72%).

In their first season, the Mighty Banyans of New College of Florida hold a 1-3 record with their win coming over Beacon College by a score of 83-63. The offense has shot 46% from the field aiding in their average of 78.8 points per contest. Quincy Snoddy Jr. averages 16 points per contest, shooting 57% from the field while Jordan Clark averages a team-high 5.3 rebounds per contest.
