TAVARES, Fla.—Southeastern posted a pair of wins during the final day of play at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships to finish as the runner-up in the NAIA division.
The Fire picked up a 3-2 win over Mobile to advance to the semifinals where they defeated Ottawa (Kan.) 4-1 before a 3-2 loss to Webber International in the championship.
Sandy Cao and
Sylvia Liszewski were named to the all-tournament team going 4-1 on the week which included a 15-10 win in the third set against Ottawa after dropping the first 21-19 and taking the second by the same score.
The points against Webber came from
Grace Petty and
Brooke Henry at Line 3 and
Hannah Kaszubowski and
Emilia Harding at Line 4. Kaszubowski and Harding rallied after dropping the second set 21-14 by winning the third 15-12.
Southeastern finished the season with a record of 13-7 with three of those losses to the Warriors.
