TAVARES, Fla.—Southeastern advanced to bracket play at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships with a 2-0 day at Hickory Point Beach.
The Fire knocked off Truett-McConnell 5-0 and then defeated William Carey 3-2.
By winning their pool, the Fire advance to bracket play at the No. 3 Seed and will take on the University of Mobile at 9 a.m. Friday.
Against Truett-McConnell, Southeastern won each match in two sets with no pair yielding more than 17 points in a set.
Sandy Cao and
Sylvia Liszewski went 2-0 on the day winning both of their matches at Line 1 including a 21-10, 21-14 win over William Carey.
Hannah Kaszubowski and
Emilia Harding teamed up for a 22-20, 21-13 win at Line 4 and
Kennedy Jones and
Emily Eurice won 21-10, 21-18 to secure the match against WCU.
