Box Score 2 THOMASVILLE, Ga.- The No. 1 Southeastern University Fire baseball team shut out the Thomas University Night Hawks 6-0 in game one of today's scheduled Sun Conference doubleheader. Game two was suspended in the middle of the fourth inning due to inclement weather with SEU leading TU 7-0.
GAME ONE:
The Fire got on the board in the top of the second with a pair of RBI-singles by
Stephen Cullen and
Thomas Broyles to put SEU ahead 2-0.
SEU doubled its advantage to 4-0 off RBI-singles by
Brian Fuentes and
Gary Lora in the top of the fifth.
Southeastern junior left-handed pitcher
Robb Adams turned in another dominant start on the mound for the Fire, going eight shutout innings, conceding four hits, walking three, and striking out five. Adams improved to 7-0 on the season with the winning decision.
Fuentes secured an insurance run for the Fire in the top of the ninth with a solo homer, his 10th of the season, to grow the SEU advantage to 6-0.

Damien Torres closed out Thomas in the bottom of the ninth with a 1-2-3 inning, picking up a strikeout.Â
GAME TWO:
SEU scored seven runs through the first four innings of play, going 7-18 at the plate and drawing six walks.
Brian Fuentes was a perfect 2-2 at the plate, belting his second homer of the doubleheader, a three-run shot to put the Fire ahead of the Night Hawks 7-0 in the top of the fourth.
Southeastern logged three scoreless innings on 28 pitches before the game was suspended in the middle of the fourth inning due to inclement weather. In three innings, Gillespie allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out three batters.
Game two will be resumed in the bottom of the fourth inning tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with the series finale to be played 30 minutes following the completion of game two.
