LAKELAND, Fla.- The 24-1 Southeastern University women's basketball team will look to advance their 20 game win streak this week as they take on Sun Conference opponents in St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and will return home on Saturday to take on Florida Memorial University at 5 p.m.

The Fire will begin the week with the team from Miami who comes in to this week with a 10-13 overall record and 6-7 SUN record after dropping their most recent contest by a score of 65-58 to the College of Coastal Georgia. The Bobcats average nearly 70 points per contest and are shooting a collective 39% from the field and 32% from three-point range while their defense has been their strong suit with 40 rebounds and 11 steals a game. Kasey Gagan leads the Bobcat offense with 290 points, averaging 12.6 per game while Brooke Bogatz averages 12.7 a game with 24 less points in two less games played while also leading the team in assists with 53. Chrystal Pressley averages 10 rebounds per contest for a total of 219 through 22 games.

The last contest earlier this year between the Fire and the Bobcats resulted in a 74-55 victory for the Fire with Gagan dropping 15 points and five rebounds.

Rounding out the week will be the weekend contest between the Fire and the Lions who come into the week with a 14-6 record and 10-2 record in conference play while currently on a six game winning streak. The Lions register 76.5 points per game with a 40.1% from the field but have struggled maintaining possession of the ball with an average of 19.5 turnovers per game. Aliyah-Deen Ahmad is the team's leading scorer with 272 and an average of 13.6 per game while also leading the Lions in assists with 54. Monique Esbrand has been the strongest Lion defensively with 136 rebounds (6.8 per game) and 52 steals.

The Lions last took on the Fire in January when the Fire handed the Lions one of their two SUN losses by a score of 95-71. Natalia Leguizamon recorded 23 points and eight rebounds in that contest.

The No. 3 ranked Southeastern ranks fourth in points per game at 84.9 largely due to their three-point shooting success of a 37.3% from distance.
Angela Perry continues to lead the Fire to success with her 19.4 points per game average and 465 total points while also leading the Fire defensively with 159 rebounds. The Fire rank second nationally in assists per game at 21 largely contributed to
Tahanee Bennell's 102 and
Marta Aranda's 93.
