Women's Tennis Shuts-out No.15 Reinhardt

Box Score WALESKA, GA.- In a shutout upset effort, the No. 19 Southeastern University women's tennis team defeated the No. 15 ranked Reinhardt University by a dominating score of 7-0 to advance their team record to 3-1.
 
The Fire jumped out to an 1-0 lead after doubles play thanks to all three doubles for the Fire securing wins by scores of 6-2, 6-0, and 6-2.
 
The Fire would go on to secure every singles match against the No. 15 nationally ranked team with no one needing more than two sets as the Fire's number one player, Martina Picardi defeated Tayla Kniger in two sets by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 while Beatrice Letezia also defeated her opponent in two sets by the same scores.
 
Neleah Neiberline took down Reinhardt's number three 2-0 after winning the first set 6-2 and the final set 6-0.
 
Freshman Irene Lopez kept the momentum for the Fire as she advanced the overall score to 5-0 after winning her close-contested match in two sets, 7-5 and 6-3.
 
The final two matches saw Priscila Baptista defeat Sophia Guaglianone 2-0 with scores of 6-0 and 6-2 while Abigail Damon secured the Fire's 7-0 upset with her 2-0 victory by sets scores of 6-0 and 6-2.
 
The Fire will face their biggest challenge of the year next match as they take on the No. 2 team in the NAIA in Keiser University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
