LAKELAND, Fla.- The 18-1 Southeastern University woman's basketball team will be on the road twice this week as they face off against Florida Memorial University on Tuesday at 6 p.m. followed by a contest on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. against Ave Maria University.

The FMU Lions will come into the Sun Conference contest with an 8-5 overall record and are coming off of a 78-64 loss to Webber International to move their SUN record to 5-1. Through 13 games, the Lions offense average 74.4 points per contest for an 11.1 scoring margin over their competitors. The Lion's offense has had their struggles offensively as they are shooting 39.8% from the field and only 62.4% from the free throw line. Defense has been a strong point for the Lions as they average 44.2 rebounds per game and 14.5 steals per game.

Chantel Barnett leads the Lion's in many categories with 164 points through 12 games and an average of 13.7 per game while also leading the unit at the free throw line with a 77% free throw percentage. She also is the team leader in steals with 36.

The Gyrenes come into the Thursday contest with a 9-6 record (3-3) and are coming off a victory against Warner by the score of 62-56. As a team, the Gyrenes average 70 points per 40 minutes behind a field goal percentage of 39%. Defensively, they average 47.2 boards a contest and 9.8 steals per game.

Lavariah Armstead is the Gyrene's leading scorer with 217 points in 15 games for an average of 14.5 per contest while Colleen Shanahan leads the defense with 140 rebounds, 86 coming defensively.

The Fire average 85.4 per contest and a field goal percentage of 49.1% which ranks second in the nation. The 39.8% three-point percentage also ranks second nationally as the Fire have seen success from beyond the arc this season. On the other side of the ball, the Fire average 37.7 rebounds per game and 13.7 steals per game.

Angela Perry has been the Fire's hottest hand this season with 363 points and a field goal percentage of 57.8%. The center averages 20.2 points per game and seven rebounds per game.
Marta Aranda is the Fire's second leading scorer with 202 points and 11.2 per game while also leading the team in steals with 55.
Rebecca Cook comes in at second in rebounds for the Fire with 112 and 6.6 per game.
