LAKELAND, Fla.- After navigating the difficulties of a shortened 2020 season, COVID-19 protocol, and other adversity on the court this season, the No. 21 Southeastern University men's tennis team has been refined through their trials and is excited to compete in the 2021 Sun Conference Men's Tennis Tournament in Brunswick, Georgia this Thursday. The Fire are the third-seeded team in the field of four teams and will take on the second-seeded St. Thomas University Bobcats in a semifinal match.

FIRE FOCUS:
-Southeastern will make its fourth all-time appearance in The Sun Conference Tournament. The Fire have never won a TSC postseason match.
-After starting the season 0-4, with all four contests coming versus NAIA-ranked or receiving votes' opponents, the Fire finished the regular season 7-1, including 5-0 in TSC play to end the year.
-The duo of
Felipe Barbosa and
Santiago Haas has been unstoppable at line three doubles, having won eight straight matches.
-In singles' play
Theodor Preiswerk has had the best run of success as of late. Preiswerk six straight matches at line three, where he is 7-2 on the year.
-
Tyler Glowaki has also been solid at line six, riding a five-match win streak and posting a 5-2 overall record in that position on the year.
-SEU fell to St. Thomas in the regular season meeting in Miami Gardens 5-2.
THE BOBCATS:
-St. Thomas has secured its first TSC postseason berth since 2018 and its first winning regular season since 2011.
-The Bobcats have won five of their last six matches, including four-straight in Sun Conference play, heading into the TSC Tournament.
-The duo of Juan Patino Pabon and Robin Calais are a perfect 6-0 in doubles' play this season, with five of their victories coming at line three.
-Patino Pabon has also had the most successful run as of late in singles' action, having won eight-straight at line six singles, where he is undefeated on the season.
-Calais carries a four-match win single's win streak into the postseason, where he has dived up time between lines two and three.
