LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern University women's tennis head coach
Drew Dickens has announced the signing Neleah Neiberline to the program. Neiberline will join the Fire in the fall of 2021.
"Neleah brings a lot for us off the court with a strong spiritual background. I think she's going to be a strong leader for us," shared Coach Dickens. "She is also a very talented tennis player. She has a terrific high school tennis record, in which she has not lost a match in three years. She brings a level of consistency on the court but I think her character and her love for God is what trumps everything else.
Neiberline is a Lakeland resident and is currently a senior at Mckeel Academy in town. Neiberline is the top-line singles' competitor for a highly successful Mckeel girls' tennis program that was undefeated in regular season play in 2019, capturing the District 10 and West Polk Championships.
In 2019, Neleah was named The Polk County Girls' Tennis Player of the Year after she was the Class 2A District 10 singles' and doubles' champion, advancing to the state finals in both singles and doubles.
"I've always wanted to come here and once I found tennis I thought that might be my opportunity to do so," commented Neiberline. "The opportunity for an education and how nice the girls have been was a big draw for me."
