MARIETTA, Ga.—Southeastern wrestling had a solid showing at the Life U Invitational which featured some of the best programs and wrestlers in the NAIA as well as some NCAA Division I and II competition.
Five wrestlers placed in the top six during competition in the open and freshman/sophomore divisions.
Sal Silva was the top placer, finishing third in the 157-pound Open Division with his only loss to No. 3 Derrick Smallwood of Lindsey Wilson. Of his five wins, three were major decisions or technical falls.
Isaac Crowell placed fourth in the Open 125-pound division with a 3-2 semifinal loss to No. 2 Justin Portillo of Grand View and dropped the third-place match to Reinhardt's sixth-ranked Koby Milner.
Esau Bazilme was sixth in the Open 125, winning two matches in the blood round to get to the placement matches.
Stephen Kelle was fifth at 174 scoring a sudden victory win in his first match of the day and won two major decisions in the consolation rounds. In the semis, Kelle lost in sudden victory to No. 9 Cole Tenety.
In the Freshman/Sophomore 157-pound division,
Izac Martinez was sixth winning a tech fall and a decision.
Xavier Williamson just missed out on placing, coming up just a point short of former All-American Sean Deshazer in the second round. In the Open 141,
Kael Brisker won a pair of matches and came up just short of No. 4 Bryce Nickel of Cumberlands.

rd against Keiser at 7 p.m.
