LAKELAND, Fla.- The 5-1 Southeastern University women's basketball team will spend the first half of the week preparing for two late week Sun Conference matchups starting with the College of Coastal Georgia on Thursday in Brunswick, Ga. at 5:30 P.M. and will finish out the week in Thomasville, Ga. on Saturday at 2 P.M. as they face off against the Night Hawks of Thomas University.

The Mariners have strung together a 3-4 start to their season and an 0-1 SUN record and are coming off of a 63-54 loss to Keiser University at home. As a unit, the Mariners offense averages 61.9 points per game with a field goal percentage of 33.3% while the other side of the ball averages 43.4 rebounds per game. Kelsey Leedle has been the Mariners top scorer through seven games with 74 points for an average of 10.6 per game while San Graddic captains the defense with a total of 66 rebounds. These two SUN teams last met in February of the 2021 season when the Fire took down the Mariners in dominating fashion by a score of 101-41 to advance their all-time record to a perfect 11-0 over the Mariners.

TU comes into the fourth week of the season with a record of 1-4 with one SUN win coming against Keiser and are coming off of a 63-53 loss to Middle Georgia State. The Night Hawks will also take on Lynn University and Ave Maria University this week before taking on the task of the No. 5 ranked Fire on Saturday. Through five games, the Night Hawks average 55.4 points per game with a field goal percentage of .412. Destiny Reed is the leading scorer for TU with 57 points and an average of 11.4 per game while Amayla Sharif has recorded 12 steals for an average of 2.4 per game. The Fire defeated the Night Hawks 72-20 in their last contest in February of the 2021 season to advance their history record to 18-10 over TU.

The Fire open up the week sitting on a 5-1 record with their only loss coming in the form of a 76-67 loss to the receiving votes Bryan College and are coming off of a 63-44 win over Ave Maria University. Angela Perry has been the Fire's leading scorer through six games after putting up 103 points for an average of 17.2 per contest while also registering a team leading 50 rebounds while
Marta Aranda has found ways to aid in the Fire scoring with 23 assists.
