WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—Three Southeastern University freshman earned All-Sun Conference volleyball honors today, announced by the league office.
The Fire landed two players on the first team with outside hitter
Sandy Cao and setter
Alexandra Postlethwaite with second team honors going to
Holly Kaczmarek.
Cao was a four-time SUN Attacker of the Week and lead the league in kills with 468. Her .278 attacking percentage ranked seventh in the Sun this year. Additionally, the Clearwater native had 360 digs averaging 3.27 per set which was eighth in the league. She racked up 16 double-doubles and had a match with 23 kills and 23 digs against Webber International.
Postlethwaite was a five-time SUN Setter of the Week which was the most this year. The Land O' Lakes native had a conference-best 1,053 assists and averaged 9.66 per set which was second in the conference. She also racked up the second most aces in the league this season with 45.
Kaczmarek was the SUN Defender of the Week on September 27
th after recording 33 digs against Ave Maria and 27 more against Florida Memorial. The Woodridge, Ill. native was second in the conference in digs per set at 5.14, totaling 622.
The remaining specialty awards for the 2021 Sun Conference volleyball season will be announced Thursday.
