Lakeland, Fla.- For the first time in program history, the Southeastern University women's soccer team will see countable spring competition as they resume their 2020 season and prepare for the National Tournament in Foley, Alabama in late April. With most of the country opting to postpone postseason play to the spring, the Fire have the opportunity to grab a couple more regular season competitions in the spring before advancing to the National Tournament in April. The Fire will open their spring play against The Master's University on January 30
th at 7 p.m. at home in Lakeland.
The Fire have not competed against outside competition since November 20
th when they took down the defending National Champions, Keiser University, to secure their second Sun Conference Tournament title after a thrilling overtime victory where the Fire took down the Seahawks 4-2 in penalty kicks.

Alan Berrios' debut season as Fire head coach, the Fire ended the fall with a perfect 12-0-1 record and was led by senior forward
Aisha Solorzano who found the back of the net 12 times in 10 games played. Sophomore transfer
Naira Lopez proved to be the playmaker for the Fire after recording a team high 12 assists which also put her tied for first in the nation in assists. Defensively, goalkeeper
Holly Eddins recorded 45 saves in 13 games played including two penalty kick saves in overtime against Keiser to secure the championship title.
The Master's University Mustangs began their 2021 campaign on January 16
th with a 2-2 tie against Ottawa University Arizona and will also face the University of Mobile and William Carey before taking on the Fire on the 30
th. Southeastern and Masters have faced off only once before back in the 2018 season when the number six ranked Fire shutout the Mustangs 3-0.
