LAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU graduate defender
Ramsey Watkins has been named an NAIA Third Team All-American, the NAIA announced, adding another national honor to a standout season for Fire women's soccer.
Watkins becomes the ninth player in SEU women's soccer history to be named to one of the NAIA's three All-America teams, and the first since Bania Durán in 2019. Including honorable mention selections, Watkins is the 20th All-America honoree in program history.
A First Team All–Sun Conference selection, Watkins anchored the Fire back line throughout the 2025 season, starting all 17 matches and logging 1,296 minutes. Her leadership and defensive consistency helped guide SEU to a 37–15 goal differential while facing a demanding conference and postseason schedule.
Despite her primary role as a defender, Watkins contributed on both ends of the field, totaling two goals and three assists. She delivered several timely offensive moments, including a goal in a road win at Keiser and a goal–assist performance against Webber International, while remaining a steady presence in possession and transition.
Watkins' impact was especially evident in high-leverage matches, playing the full 90 minutes in multiple contests and recording a season-high 91 minutes in the NAIA National Tournament against Lindsey Wilson. Her ability to neutralize opposing attacks while maintaining composure in build-up play made her a key figure in SEU's defensive structure.
Over her career, Watkins appeared in 67 matches with 62 starts, recording 10 goals and seven assists while totaling nearly 4,900 minutes on the pitch. Her longevity, versatility, and consistency culminated in national recognition during her graduate season.
Watkins, a Lakeland native and Lakeland Christian School alum, caps her collegiate career as one of the most accomplished defenders in program history. Her NAIA All-America honor reflects both her individual excellence and Southeastern's continued presence on the national stage.
