PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga.—Junior
Valentina Espinosa finished the 36-hole Skyhawk Invitational at Callaway Gardens at even par to win medalist honors, and help her team win the tournament.
In the second round, the Fire posted a program record score of 295 and won the team honors by 11 strokes over Indiana Wesleyan.
Espinosa carded a 72 in each round to finish at the top of the leaderboard and win by two strokes. The junior was three under on the front and three over on the back during the second round. In the first round, she was two-over on the first five holes, but finished the last 13 two-under.
Ana Uribe finished fourth with rounds of 76 and 73, and
Brooke Wetzel also landed in the Top 10 with a total of 152 (78-74) to place ninth, and
Ashlynn Joyner was 10
th at 153 (77-76).
Brianna Farrell rounded out the lineup in 13
th with a total of 155 (75-80).
The Fire will be back in action Monday at Primm Valley Resort in California.
