Men’s Tennis Drops Tough Battle to NCAA Division II Eckerd

Box Score

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- The RV Southeastern University men's tennis team fought hard on the road, but saw their five-match win streak come to an end, as they fell 5-2 to the NCAA Division II Eckerd College Tritons.

The Fire faced an early deficit after dropping two out of three lines in doubles' play. The duo of sophomore Santiago Haas and freshman Alec Lichter took the third doubles' line for SEU 6-2.

Haas was also a bright spot in singles' play for the Fire, as he downed his opponent at the second line in two sets (6-4, 6-1).

Graduate student Omar Fiorenzato was the only other Southeastern player to earn a point, taking a three-set thriller at line number five (4-6, 7-6, 10-7).

The Fire look to bounce back on Saturday, as they host the No. 7 Keiser University Seahawks. Match time at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex is set for 1:00 p.m.
