MOBILE, Ala.—The Fire women's golf team placed second at the Ram Invitational at Magnolia Grove Crossings, finishing just four strokes behind No. 17 William Carey.
In the third round, the Fire had the best 18-hole team score of the tournament with a 299 (+11).
Junior
Ashlynn Joyner was the top finisher in third place, closing the 54-hole tournament with a 1-over 73, and totaling a score of 226 (78-75-73).
Valentina Espinosa was a stroke behind Joyner in fourth place and was the leader after 18 holes with a 2-under 70, and closed with an 81 and a 76.
In fifth was senior
Ana Uribe with a score of 228 (80-75-73), and
Brooke Wetzel was eighth, picking up a hole in one during the first round, and posting a 237 (79-81-77).
The Fire return to action on March 9
th at Callaway Gardens for the Point Skyhawk Invitational.
