MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—Southeastern won all three of its beach volleyball matches at St. Thomas over the weekend, defeating Florida Memorial 3-2, Ave Maria 5-0, and St. Thomas 4-1.
The Fire rallied to beat Florida Memorial in their first match of the season on Friday, getting wins from the second pair of
Katie Chillura and
Hannah Kaszubowski and fourth pair of
Kirsten Sutherland and
Emily Eurice to close out the match. Keniah Rivera-Santiago and
Jordyn Stiger, SEU's third pair also was a 2-1 winner.
In a shutout win over Ave Maria, the Fire only dropped three total sets with Chillura & Kaszubowski and
Courtney Krause &
Emily Boehlein winning in straight sets.
Krause & Boehlien also got the Fire going against St. Thomas, getting on the board with a 21-4, 21-12 win and were followed by wins by Rivera-Santiago & Stiger, then Sutherland & Eurice. Chillura & Kaszubowski scored their third straight-sets win of the weekend to close out the match.
Along with Chillura & Kaszubowski, Rivera-Santiago & Eurice went unbeaten along with Sutherland & Eurice.
The Fire return to action on March 21
st with matches against Warner and Webber International.
