Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. - Southeastern University men's tennis team returned home to play Sun Conference opponent, St. Thomas this Saturday afternoon. The Fire defeated the Bobcats 7-0 to advance to a 2-1 overall record.
Starting off the day, SEU tallied two out of three wins in doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Alexandre D'aboville and Enrique Martinez defeated the Bobcats best 6-1. Then, Santiago Haas and Alec Lichter earned another victory for Southeastern, winning 6-2 at No. 3.
The Fire continue their dominance in singles play, as they went undefeated.
Four of the six singles matches on the afternoon went into an extra set. However, all four SEU players were victorious, securing a win after the third set of play. Freshman from Brazil, Alec Lichter came back to win the match after being defeated in the first set at No. 6 singles.
No. 2 Santiago Haas and No. 5 Omar Fiorenzato both silenced their opponents in two sets.
Southeastern return to the courts February 2nd to play against Gustavus College. The matches are set at 12 p.m.
