Box Score LAKELAND, Fla.- The Southeastern University men's tennis team competed vigorously at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon. However, the Fire took a tough result to the Florida National University Conquistadors 6-1 in their 2020 season opener.
The Fire dropped all three of their doubles' matches to face a 1-0 deficit heading into the singles' mix. The duo of
Alexandre D'aboville and
Alec Lichter played a tight match at the No. 2 doubles line, but were ultimately edged in a tiebreaker 7-3.

Felipe Barbosa provided a momentary spark for the Fire at the No. 3 line in singles, defeating his opponent in a 10-point tiebreaker 10-2 after splitting the first two sets. Barbosa's win trimmed the deficit for SEU to 3-1. However, the Conquistadors won the final three singles' matches to close out the contest.
