Women’s Golf Seventh at Oldfield in Fall Opener

OKATIE, S.C.—The Southeastern University women's golf team started its 2019-20 season with a seventh-place finish at the Sand Shark Invitational at Oldfield Country Club, a 54-hole tournament played Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Fire saw three-shot improvements from the first to second and second to third rounds, opening with a team score of 320, and concluding with a third round of 314.
 
Two-time All-American Ana Uribe was the top individual for SEU with a score of 234 (80-78-76). She was two strokes ahead of teammate Valentina Espinosa with rounds of 81, 78, and 77. Brianna Farrell had the low score in the first round with a 77, and posted an 82 in the second and 79 in the third to finish 35th.
 
Brooke Wetzel placed 40th with a total score of 244 (83-79-82), and Annalee Barnett was 47th with a 252 (82-84-86).
 
The Fire return to action on October 7th at the Thomas University Invitational at Kinderlou.
