Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The Fire women's tennis team won at home today against John Carroll, defeating the Blue Streak opponents 6-3 overall. Southeastern now advance to seven wins on the season.
Sharienne Ricardo and
Beatrice Letizia defeated JCU opponents 9-8, taking the tie breaker 7-5 at No. 1 doubles. Priscilla Baptista and
Mia Dunagan earned another victory for SEU, winning 8-6 against the No. 3 duo.
The Fire went 4-2 in singles play to sustain their victory over John Carroll. Freshman and Italian-native, Letizia triumphed JCU's second best in two sets, winning both 6-0.
Angelique Myrtil earned a victory for the Fire, defeating her opponent in an extra set. Sophomore, Myrtil succeeded in the last set with a 10-3 win.
Baptista and
Gabby Marshall won in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Southeastern return to the courts tomorrow to play against Judson University. The matches are set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
