Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The Southeastern men's tennis team registered an impressive 9-0 victory over John Carroll to collect their sixth win of the year Monday afternoon.
The Fire started the competition off strong sweeping doubles play.
Lucca Marcheschi and
Santiago Haas beat Blue Streak opponents 8-6 at No. 1 doubles, while
Felipe Barbosa and
Thomas Ortega triumphed over Carroll's second best with an 8-1 victory.
Enrique Martinez and
Hugo Pires picked up a win for SEU with an 8-3 thrashing over JCU's No. 3 duo.
Southeastern continued their dominance in singles play, winning all six match-ups.
At No. 2 singles, Haas lost the first set 6-2, however won the second set 6-4. With the match going into an extra set, Haas came back to win the competition, taking the last set 15-13.
The Fire will take the courts again tomorrow to play against RV Judson University. The matches are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
