Box Score MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Southeastern women's tennis team progressed to 12 wins overall in the season, tying their season high since the program began. The last time SEU women's tennis team earned 12 wins on the season was in 2015.
The Fire earned their fourth sweep of the 2019 season, beating Bethel University 9-0.
Southeastern started the morning with clean wins in doubles play.
Sharienne Ricardo and
Beatrice Letizia beat the Royals 8-4.
The No. 2 duo,
Gabby Marshall and
Angelique Myrtil didn't give up a single point in their match, as they beat BU foes 8-0. Seniors,
Michelle Doan and
Nicole Backherms earned a victory for SEU, winning 8-6.
The Fire continued their dominance in singles playing, only conceding a total of nine points across the six games played.
Junior, Ricardo retired her opponent, winning the first one 6-3 and leading the second 3-0.
Doan was successful today, not conceding one point and defeating Royals rival in an 8-point game pro set.
Southeastern return to the courts tomorrow (03/22) as they continue their travel in Tennessee to take on No. 13 Cumberland. The matches are set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
