Box Score MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Fire's men's tennis team won their first game on the road in Tennessee versus Bethel University 8-1.
Today's victory marks the 11
th win of the season. Southeastern is one win away from tying their season high record of 12 wins on the season, back in 2015.
The Fire began the morning sweeping doubles play. The Fire's best,
Felipe Barbosa and
Thomas Ortega earned a victory for the Fire, defeating their opponents 8-4.
Hugo Pires and
Enrique Martinez beat Royals rivals 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3,
Santiago Haas and
Pedro Bahnuik succeeded another 8-2 win for the Fire.
In singles competition, the Fire won five of the six competitions.
Besides the one loss of the day, across the five other single competitions, Southeastern only conceded a total of nine points against Bethel opponents.
Southeastern continues its journey in Tennessee, as they take on No. 14 Cumberland University tomorrow (03/22) at 10:00 a.m.
