Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The Southeastern men's tennis team swept Aquinas College in this afternoon's matches, defeating the Saints 9-0 overall.
The Fire started the morning off with three clean wins in doubles play.
At No. 1 doubles,
Felipe Barbosa and
Thomas Ortega defeated the Saints best 8-6.
The No. 2 duo,
Enrique Martinez and
Hugo Pires earned another victory for Southeastern, winning 8-3.
Santiago Haas and
Pedro Bahnuik didn't let their Aquinas' foes score one point, therefore sweeping their opponents 8-0.
The Fire continued their dominance in singles play, as they went undefeated as well.
In singles competition, the first, second, and fourth games were played to decision and marked as incomplete. However, SEU was on top for the starts of all three games.
No. 3 Martinez, No. 5
Tyler Glowaki, and No. 6
Hugo Pires all beat their opponents in two sets, winning both sets 6-1.
Southeastern return to the courts tomorrow to play against Missouri Baptist University. The matches are set at 11:30 a.m.
