Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – It was a successful day for the Southeastern women's tennis team. The Fire went undefeated in both singles and doubles play against the Gyrenes. SEU ended the day with a 9-0 victory over AMU.
To start the day off, at No. 1 doubles
Sharienne Ricardo and
Beatrice Letizia defeated Ave Maria rival 8-1.
The other two double matches, at No. 2 doubles played by Angelique Mytril and
Gabby Marshall and No. 3 doubles played by Priscilla Baptista and
Mia Dunagan, both won their competitions with a 8-0 victory.
Southeastern dominated singles competition, sweeping six matches of the day.
At No. 1 singles, Ricardo earned a 2-0 victory, winning 6-1 in both sets. Freshman, Letizia won at No. 2 singles, triumphing both sets 6-0.
No. 3 Mytril, No. 4 Baptista, and No. 5 Marshall – all won their matches with a clean 6-0 victory over the Gyrene opponents.
To finish off play, freshman Dunagan earned the Fire their last victory of 2-0, taking the first set 6-0 and second set 6-1.
The Fire will take the courts again on February 25
th, as they travel to Eckerd College. The matches are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
