DORAL, Fla.—The Southeastern University women's golf team gave a brief preview of what the spring season could look like in its final performance of the fall.
The Fire put together its best scores of the season to win the Adamonis Invitational at Trump National.
Southeastern shot a 54-hole score of 934, its best of the year, opening with its best 18-hole score of the season with a 306.
Individually,
Brooke Wetzel had the best 54-hole score of the season, posting a 226 and had her best single round of the year in the first with a three-over 74 to lead the field after 18 holes. She was the co-leader after 36 holes with a 76 in the second round, and duplicated that feat in the third, missing out on medalist honors by two shots.
Senior
Ana Uribe tied for fifth with a total score of 233 (77-81-75), posting three of her six birdies during the tournament in the first round.
Valentina Espinosa tied for 14
th with a score of 239 (77-85-77)
In her first tournament of the season,
Ashlynn Joyner tied for 16
th with a score of 240 (78-81-81).
Brianna Farrell was three shots behind Joyner in 19
th place with scores of 79-81-83.
