Box Score AVE MARIA, Fla.—The Fire women's tennis team scored its first victory of the season, an 8-1 conference win at Ave Maria.
SEU swept the doubles competition, winning 8-4 at #1 with
Angelique Myrtil and
Sharienne Ricardo picking up an 8-4 win and
Nicole Backherms and
Gabby Marshall an 8-1 winner at #2. The Fire scored a default win at #3 doubles.
In singles play, Ricardo and Myrtil won at #1 and #2, respectively by straight-sets shutouts. Marshall was also a 6-0, 6-0 winner at #3.
Michelle Doan picked up the last point, scoring a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win over Therese Sadusky.
The Fire are back on the courts Wednesday at home against Webber International.
