Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla.—The Fire men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over a shorthanded Webber squad to conclude its season at 7-7.
Southeastern received three points due to forfeits at #5 and #6 singles as well as #3 doubles.
David Veliz concluded his final season with the Fire at 9-1 at #1 singles, where he picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Andrew Scott. He also teamed with Hugo Pires to win 8-5 at #1 doubles.
Nate Gangelhoff also ended his career on a high note, securing a 6-0, 6-1 win at #3 singles to go 3-1 on the season, and 15
th of his career.
It also marked the final win for coach
Bill May with the team, who will retire after starting the men's program in 2013. May led the Fire to 40 wins on the men's side.
