LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 4 Southeastern University women's basketball team is set to resume regular season play after defeating Martinique in an international exhibition last week. The Fire will take route to Orange City, Iowa for a pair of games in the Northwestern Classic. SEU first squares off against Dordt College this afternoon before taking on host school No. 17 Northwestern College on Saturday.

HEAT CHECK: The Fire have opened up the season as the hottest shooting team in the NAIA. SEU ranks number one in field goal percentage, successfully converting 53.5% of their field goal attempts. Southeastern also ranks third in field goals converted behind the arc with a .435 three point shooting percentage. Senior guard Ana Richter (16 ppg), junior guard Jaycee Coe (12 ppg), and junior forward Emma Karamovic (11.3 ppg) are each averaging double digit outings for the Fire this season.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS: This will mark the first time in program history the Fire have faced off against Dordt. However, Southeastern's matchup versus Northwestern will be a rematch of the Second Round in last year's National Tournament. The Fire defeated the Red Raiders 87-55. Richter had 11 points and 8 rebounds in the contest.
THE DEFENDERS: Dordt is looking to post its first winning season since 2012-13. The Defenders finished 10
th in the Great Plains Athletic Conference with a 13-17 record last season. Dordt is off to a 2-2 start thus far, most recently earning a 65-48 win over Waldrof at home. Sophomore guard Annie Rhinesmith is averaging 15.8 points per contest and is fresh off a 22 point outing, the second highest total in her career, versus Waldrof.
THE RED RAIDERS: The 2016-17 GPAC runners-up look to make another run at the National Tournament. After winning its season opener versus William Penn, Northwestern has lost back to back games on the road to No. 9 Jamestown (74-59) and RV Mayville State (88-81). Junior guard Kassidy De Jong has been the catalyst for the Northwestern offense, averaging 19.3 points and 7 rebounds per game. The Red Raiders went 2-0 last season as hosts of the classic.
