Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla.—The hot start for the Fire men's tennis team continued on Tuesday with a 7-2 win over conference rival Webber International.
The Fire got a key win at #2 doubles to start the day with
Jordan Harris and Max Nguyen coming away with a narrow 8-5 win, giving SEU a 2-1 lead headed to singles play.
"Our lower lineup continued to show their strength today," said coach
Bill May of Nguyen, Drew Dickens, and
Noah Rawls in singles play. Those three won in straight sets with just five total games dropped between the three of them.
Harris and
Lucca Marcheschi each won a tiebreaker, making Southeastern 18-1 in such situations over the last two seasons.
The Fire return to action on Saturday for an exhibition match against Eckerd at 10 a.m. at the Edgewood Tennis Center.
