Box Score AVE MARIA, Fla.—Just 24 hours after a tough loss to #4 SCAD Savannah, the Fire women's tennis team flipped things around with an 8-1 win of their own on the road over Ave Maria.
The Fire won five out of the six singles matches, with the lone loss at #1 in a tiebreaker. From #3 through #6, the Fire did not give up a game, winning all four 6-0, 6-0.
Alexis Quinn moved to 2-0 on the season with a straight-sets win over Mary Kate Lee.
In doubles play, Quinn teamed with
Emily Acierno to knock off the South Region's No. 4 ranked tandem of Vargas and Lee.
The Fire return to action on Tuesday with another conference match against Webber International in Babson Park at 2 p.m.
