Box Score LAKELAND, Fla.—The Southeastern men's tennis team got its season off to a strong start by scoring a 5-4 upset of No. 21 SCAD Savannah.
The Fire got a big boost from their #2 doubles team of
Jordan Harris and Max Nguyen, who won a 7-5 tiebreaker to secure a 9-8 victory and take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. Drew Dickens and
Lucca Marcheschi picked up an 8-4 win at #3 doubles as well.
Southeastern finished the day a perfect 3-0 in tiebreakers as Marcheschi won a tiebreaker to score a three-set win at #3 singles, and
Noah Rawls won a tiebreaker 7-4 en route to a straight sets win at #6 singles. Nguyen picked up a straight sets victory at #4 singles to secure victory.
The Fire return to action tomorrow at Ave Maria at noon.
