Box Score PINEVILLE, N.C. – After canceling a game due to the rainy Carolina conditions yesterday afternoon, the Fire came out strong this morning, blanking the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales Charlotte, 7-0.
Alyssa Kaminski netted the game winner from 10 yards out in the 7
th minute with an assist from
Ainsley Halliday.
Halliday's through ball in the 26
th minute would be her second assist of the game. This time it was to
Karly Palmar who put the Fire up by two.
A whole forty nine seconds later, Palmar notched an assist with a cross to Syndi Brookhouser for goal number three.
Sam Pifer made it 4-0 just over two minutes before the halftime horn with an assist from
Jai Sterling.
The Wildcats found their own net off a Fire cross in the 56
th minute to make it 5-0.
Heidi Ruth scored the sixth with an assist from
Bre Eldridge in the 71
st minute, then Eldridge, assisted by Pifer, netted the final goal in the 87
th. "It was a great effort today and I was excited to get many of our younger players some experience today," said Coach
Renee Lopez. "It has been a great trip going 2-0 and being able to bond as a team."
The Fire return home to take on TSC opponent, Keiser University on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
