Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—Southeastern's women's tennis team scored its first win at The Sun Conference Tournament with a 5-4 win over St. Thomas University. With the #1 doubles team of Kelsi Black and Alexis Quinn securing SEU's only victory in doubles play, the Fire needed four wins in singles play to win the match.
Black picked up the first with a three-set thriller at #1 singles, then was followed by Madeline Wills, who won by retirement. Quinn and Savannah Ewing each won the final matches at #2 and #3 singles, respectively, to pick up the victory.
Southeastern will take on fifth-ranked SCAD Savannah, the conference regular season champion on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
