Box Score WINTER HAVEN, Fla.- The Southeastern women's tennis team moved to 4-2 on the season with a 7-2 win over Warner University in a key Sun Conference matchup.
After taking a 2-1 lead through doubles play, the Fire took five of the six singles matches with the lone setback at #1, where Kelsi Black lost a tight three-set match. Freshmen Alaina and Savannah Ewing secured an 8-3 win at #3 doubles, then both won their singles matches; Savannah at #4 6-4, 6-2, and Alaina at #6 6, 6-0. Classmate Melanie Dodd locked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at #5 singles as well.
"This was a big win for our women's team," said coach Bill May. "Warner got us last year 5-4, so it was good to see the improvements that our team has made."
The Fire return to the courts on Saturday to take on Cornerstone in a non-conference match.
