The Fire women's team pulled off an upset win over RV Webber International by a 7-2 score to earn their first win of the season. Captain Wendy Reade led the Fire with two wins on the day; at No. 4 singles Reade rallied after losing the first set 2-6, to take the next two sets 6-4, 6-2. Reade and her doubles partner, Kristina Wisor, won at No. 2 doubles 9-7. Sadia Mayou (No.1 singles) and Alexis Quinn (No.3 singles) also collected their first wins in singles this season.
The Fire men's tennis team fell to No. 19 Webber International by a final score of 9-0. Several matches, including No. 1 singles (Sergei Krasilnikov) and No. 3 singles (Jordan Harris) were three-set matches, or very competitive two-setters. The Fire lost at No. 2 doubles in tie-breaker, 9-8.
