No. 20 St. Thomas Blanks Southeastern, 6-0

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.--The Southeastern women's tennis team traveled to South Florida on Monday, to complete a match with No. 20 St. Thomas University because the match between the two schools had been previously rained out back in February. The conference event was built around just six singles matches, as the Lady Bobcats blanked Southeastern, 6-0.

In No. 1 singles, STU's Gabriella Bongiovanni defeated Chelsey Lynn, 6-1, 6-0 while Emilia Vuorela handed SEU's Kristina Wisor a similar fate in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Southeastern's Wendy Reade lost a tough match in the No. 3 position, falling to Ydsia Quintero 6-3, 6-1. Stephanie Dodd lost to Manuela Gil, 6-2, 6-0, in No. 4 singles while Ashley Ahern cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lexus Potts.

In No. 6 singles, Heather Ericksen managed to win a game in her match, losing to Lauren Lightfoot 6-1, 6-0.

Southeastern is now 2-5 in conference play, and 3-11 overall on the year. SEU will close out their regular season with a non-conference match versus Webber International, on Thursday, in Babson Park, Fla.
