Lady Fire Downs Warner, 7-2

LAKELAND--Southeastern University downed Warner University, 7-2, Saturday afternoon improving to 2-0 within The Sun Conference.

Lexus Potts collected her first win as a collegiate tennis player, and the only two sets Southeastern lost were due to defaults.

The Fire jumped out 2-1 after doubles play. Chelsey Lynn and Wendy Reade teamed up to defeat Kelley Pope and Christina Ratcliff, 8-1. Kristina Wisor and Stephanie Dodd then paired together and won easily, 8-0, over Cindy Prieto and Maxime Copley.

In singles play, Lynn and Wisor both won their matches 6-1, 6-0, over Pope and Prieto respectively. 

Playing in the No. 4 position, Stephanie Dodd cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Copley.

Potts defeated Courtney Birkins in the best match of the day, earning a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Southeastern is now 2-1 overall, and will travel to Daytona Beach next Friday to take on No. 3 Embry-Riddle University.
