Women's Tennis Seniors, Autumn Housefield and Amanda Summers teamed up for another doubles victory on Senior Day.

Lady Fire Earns First Conference Win

LAKELAND, Fla.--Southeastern University finished up their 2011 home schedule with a 9-0 victory over Ave Maria University, Friday afternoon, at the Edgewood Tennis Complex. The Lady Fire also said farwell to seniors Autumn Housefield and Amanda Summers, as the two seniors played their final home match of their SEU careers.

It was also SEU's first conference victory of the season, as the Lady Fire improves to 1-4 in The Sun Conference and 7-9 overall. Southeastern has also won a season high three straight matches.

Chelsey Lynn and Alexandra Fraser teamed up to defeat Jaclyn Ruiz and Shahodat Hamraera, 8-0.  Noelle Cottom and Wendy Reade then put Southeastern ahead, 2-0, after defeating Julia Sadusky and Eileen Lee, 8-3. Housefield and Summers then combined to give the Lady Fire a clean sweep in doubles play, winning 8-4, over Luciana Romero and Kristina Larsen.

In singles play, Lynn cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Ruiz while Cottom did not lose a set, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Lee.

Reade was victorious over Maria Fiala 6-1, 6-4, and Fraser added another singles victory to her total this season with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Shahodat Hamraera.

Housefield continued her fine senior season with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Luciana Romero while Summers closed out Julia Sadusky 6-3, 6-4.

Up next for Southeastern, a match versus SUNY Purchase, this upcoming Monday on a neutral court in Orlando, Fla.
