LAKELAND, Fla. - Southeastern secured a 4–2 victory over Webber International in their home opener at the SEU Soccer Field. Southeastern controlled the pace early, outshooting Webber International 9–2 in the opening half, but didn't break through until the 43rd minute when Olivia Hadad capitalized on a rebound off the keeper following a setup from Sara Irurozki to send SEU into halftime with a 1–0 lead.

The action picked up drastically in the second half as the Fire stretched the lead to 3–0. Danielle Vogel extended the advantage in the 68th minute by heading in a corner kick delivered by Rebecca Laface. Eden Greenfield then added a highlight-reel goal in the 76th minute, maneuvering past Warrior defenders before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

Webber International responded with a fierce two-minute surge to bring themselves back into the match. Morgan Myers set up Sydney Aldeghi for a long-range strike down the middle in the 77th minute, and just over a minute later, Myers found Sophia Schlager on a through ball into the bottom right corner, cutting the deficit to 3–2. SEU halted any chance of a full comeback just seconds later when Rebecca Laface slipped another through ball to Olivia Hadad, who finished into the bottom left corner for her second goal of the night, securing the 4–2 win.

Up next: SEU heads to Marshall, Missouri to face #6 Missouri Valley August 24th at 7 p.m.
