LAKELAND, Fla. — Southeastern men's tennis is headed back to the NAIA National Championship in Mobile, looking to make another deep postseason run after the program's historic 2025 campaign. The journey begins Wednesday morning.
The Fire will open postseason play at 10 a.m. EST against No. 12 Missouri Baptist University.
Last season marked one of the greatest years in program history, highlighted by a run to the NAIA National Championship semifinals. Southeastern now looks to build on that momentum heading into another challenging national tournament field.
In singles play, No. 28
Piero Fernandez will lead the lineup on court one, while No. 17
Javier Gallego takes over court two.
Pedro De La Riva is set for court three, with No. 23
Gonzalo Fernandez handling the fourth position.
Aristeidis Lafazanos will compete on court five, while freshman
Nikolas Kumria rounds out the lineup on court six.
Doubles competition will feature several new combinations from the regular season lineup. No. 29
Piero Fernandez and Gallego will anchor the top flight, while No. 37 De La Riva and
Gustavo Rubio take the second position.
Gonzalo Fernandez and
Leonardo Chiari form a new pairing on court three.
Southeastern enters the postseason after an impressive regular season in which its only four losses came against teams ranked inside the NAIA top three. The Fire now turn their full attention toward the national tournament, where another postseason run awaits.
