BABSON PARK, Fla. -- SEU Men's Basketball returned to Sun Conference play in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Webber International, 84–57, to secure its 12th consecutive victory and continue one of the most consistent stretches of basketball in the NAIA.
The Fire set the tone early, scoring on their first five possessions and never looking back. Southeastern shot an efficient 55.9 percent from the field, marking the ninth time in the last 10 games the Fire have eclipsed the 50-percent mark, a testament to their ball movement, pace, and interior presence.
The offensive balance was again on display, as Southeastern recorded its fourth game this season with multiple 20-point scorers.
Mylo Santos poured in a game-high 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting, continuing his recent surge while attacking the rim and capitalizing in transition.
Daivion Traylor was equally dominant, finishing with 22 points on a blistering 10-of-13 effort, controlling the paint and providing a steady scoring presence throughout both halves.
Southeastern built a commanding 46–30 halftime lead, fueled by a 66.7 percent shooting performance in the opening 20 minutes. The Fire repeatedly beat Webber off the dribble, scored consistently in the lane, and turned defensive stops into quick offense.
Nathan Mikkelson anchored the interior with 10 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks, helping Southeastern hold Webber to just 34.4 percent shooting for the game.
In the second half, Southeastern maintained control, pushing the margin as high as 27 points. Contributions came from across the rotation, including
LaDavian King's nine points and six rebounds and
Jayson Nixon's nine points and six assists. The Fire finished with 54 points in the paint, underscoring their physicality and ability to dictate the game inside.
Defensively, Southeastern was sharp and disciplined, forcing 13 turnovers and limiting Webber to just 2-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc. The Fire's ability to contest shots without fouling and close possessions on the glass ensured there was no momentum swing after halftime.
Southeastern will now turn its attention to a marquee Sun Conference matchup, heading on the road to face #11 Keiser Seahawks on Wednesday, January 7, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla.
