WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Southeastern Men's Basketball saw its 12-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday night, falling 84–62 on the road at Keiser in a Sun Conference matchup at the Student Life Center. The loss moves SEU to 14–2 overall and 4–1 in Sun Conference play
The Fire were competitive early and played from in front for stretches of the opening half, opening the game with a 5–0 run behind strong interior play from
Daivion Traylor. Southeastern consistently attacked the paint and matched Keiser's physicality, keeping the contest tight throughout the first 20 minutes. After multiple lead changes, the Fire went into the locker room trailing just 36–33 at halftime.
Traylor led Southeastern with a game-high 19 points while pulling down 13 rebounds, anchoring the Fire on both ends of the floor.
LaDavian King provided a spark off the bench with 14 points, while
Nathan Mikkelson added 11 points and connected on a pair of three-pointers. Southeastern's offensive approach generated quality looks inside, resulting in 36 points in the paint.
Keiser took control early in the second half, opening the period with a decisive run that pushed the margin into double figures. The Seahawks shot efficiently after halftime and capitalized on turnovers to extend the lead. Southeastern struggled to find offensive rhythm in the second frame, shooting under 30 percent from the field as Keiser continued to build separation.
Despite the result, the Fire battled on the glass, recording 15 offensive rebounds that created extended possessions and second-chance opportunities throughout the night. Southeastern continued to compete defensively and on the boards, but was unable to slow Keiser's momentum in the final 20 minutes.
SEU returns to The Furnace on Saturday, hosting New College of Florida at 4 p.m. as the Fire look to respond in conference action.
