LAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU delivered a complete, wire-to-wire performance on Wednesday night, rolling past Coastal Georgia 108–73 at The Furnace to improve to 5–1 overall and 2–0 in Sun Conference play. The Fire dictated the pace from the opening tip, using crisp ball movement, spacing, and high-efficiency shot selection to seize control early and build a comfortable lead that never wavered.
The SEU attack flowed smoothly from every position, producing 56 first-half points and shooting 60.6% before the break. The momentum carried through the second half as the Fire closed the game at a blistering 62.7% from the field, their highest shooting performance since hitting 63.9% against Florida Memorial on February 14, 2019. The Fire also posted season highs in points (108), made threes (12), and assists (20). Ten players scored, all five starters reached double figures, and seven different Fire players knocked down at least one three-pointer, illustrating the depth and versatility of SEU's offense.
Mylo Santos led the way, scoring 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting with five assists and three steals, repeatedly igniting transition opportunities.
Anthony Kangah added 20 points, including three threes, while
Daivion Traylor powered the interior with 19 points and six rebounds.
Jayson Nixon delivered 13 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, and
Nathan Mikkelson contributed 10 points, helping control the glass and the defensive end.
Defensively, the Fire's pressure and discipline helped generate 16 Coastal Georgia turnovers, which SEU converted into 31 points. Southeastern held a 36–24 rebounding advantage, turning that effort into 21 second-chance points. Isaiah Edden paced the Mariners with 13 points, but Coastal Georgia struggled to counter SEU's speed, spacing, and relentless precision. Consecutive threes from Nixon midway through the first half pushed the lead to double digits, and the Fire eventually stretched the margin to as large as 37.
Southeastern now turns its attention to the weekend as it continues its homestand. The Fire will be back inside The Furnace on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m., hosting St. Thomas University (Fla.) in another Sun Conference matchup.
