KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- SEU Women's Soccer standout
Ariadna Lozano has been named the NAIA Women's Soccer National Offensive Player of the Week, following a breakout two-match stretch that powered the Fire to a pair of victories and a statement upset over the nation's top-ranked team.
Lozano becomes the second Fire player this season to receive a national honor, joining
Sofia Diaz, who earned the distinction on September 8. She is also the ninth player in program history to receive an NAIA Player of the Week award — and marks the first time since 2020 that Southeastern has produced multiple national honorees in the same season.
The senior midfielder was the driving force behind SEU's 2-0 week, highlighted by her game-changing contributions in both matches.
In the upset of No. 1 Keiser on the road, Lozano delivered a pinpoint assist to
Madelyn Davidson in the 83rd minute to secure the Fire's 3-2 victory. She also registered three total shots, including one on frame, in the dramatic result that stunned the Skyhawks.
Lozano carried that momentum into the weekend, tallying a goal and two assists in a 5-0 win over New College of Florida, helping Southeastern extend its current four-match win streak.
Southeastern (10-2-2, 5-1 SUN) will host Warner on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m. for Senior Night at the SEU Soccer Field before closing the regular season on the road at St. Thomas on Wednesday, October 29.
