Fire Track and Field turned in their fifth Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship behind a dominant performance on Saturday and Sunday, this performance earned three athletes Sun Conference player of the week awards.

Vincent Lopez after a fantastic performance in the Sun Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after winning the Decathlon with 5221 points.

John Perez-Dunn alongside winning Sun Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week was also named the Most Valuable Performer at The Sun Conference Championships, earning 30 points by finishing first in the 5000, 10,000, and the 3,000 Steeplechase.

Irmiris Mendez scored 31 points at the Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships to earn Most Valuable Performer honors at The Sun Conference Championships to help the Fire to their fifth-straight outdoor title.Â

She ran an NAIA 'B' Standard in the 100m preliminaries, as well as winning the 100m hurdles, and anchored the FIre to wins in the 4x100 and 4x400. Because of her performance she earned for herself a Sun Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award.
