The Southeastern Baseball team took the second of three games against the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles 13-5, clinching the series and moving to 8-0 on the season.
It all started with a five-run bottom of the second inning, led by a two-run home run from
Josh Smith, followed three batters later by a three-run home run from Christoper Munoz. The Eagles were able to respond in the top of the fourth with a grand slam, bringing them within one run of the Fire.
The Fire were able to chip away after that, scoring four innings in a row, putting up eight runs in those innings, highlighted by
Chayce Bryant's two-run single in the fifth and his first home run of the season in the sixth.
Bryant led the offense in today's game, going 4-5, with a home run, two doubles, and four runs batted in. Munoz followed closely behind with three RBIs on the home run.
Five pitchers saw the mound today for Southeastern, led by
Ramsey David, who got the nod for the start, striking out eight batters in five innings to pick up the win. The Fire pitching staff combined for 15 strikeouts on the day, only surrendering two walks.
The final game of the series between the Eagles and Fire will begin tomorrow at 12 P.M.
