Women's Basketball Goes Cold at Keiser

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--The Fire women's basketball team had a tough game against the Seahawks on the road, losing 82-74 to bring their overall record to 16-6 (7-2 SUN) for the year.

During the game, the Fire struggled in the first quarter, only leading once. They also had difficulty shooting, with a 33% field goal percentage in the first quarter and only 28% in the fourth quarter. However, the team did manage to score well from the free throw line, making 21 out of 28 attempts. 

Southeastern took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter, but struggled offensively going 6-for-21 from the field. A Kacilyn Krebs 3-pointer with 58 seconds left got the Fire within three at 77-74 but the Seahawks went 5-for-6 at the free throw line to close the game and SEU on its final three field goal attempts.  

Kiki Britzmann was the top scorer for the Fire with 20 points, 6-10 shooting, nine rebounds, and five assists. Mya Herman scored 14 points, while Kassidy Jones and Bekki Kalaydjiev scored 10 each.

The next game for the Fire will be against the Webber International Warriors in Babson Park, Fla. on
February 10th at 2 P.M.
